Different Poses Of Yoga

1. Mountain pose

It is the arm balance pose. It strengthens the arms and the spine. Kumbhak means ‘breath retention’ and aasan means ‘posture.’ It is a basic pose that is used in sun salutation, also called SuryaNamaskar. It helps to gain stamina and building balance in the body.

3. Lotus pose

Lotus pose also called padmasana. This pose has been there since ancient times. The main concentration is on the breathing process and the posture.

4. Vajrasana

It is called the thunderbolt pose. Vajra means ‘diamond,’ and Aasan means ‘ posture.’ It is a perfect pose that helps in better digestion. It works on the thighs and knees. It is a kneeling aasan in Hatha yoga. Also known as a pelvic pose.

4. Kapotasana

It is also known as pigeon pose. Kapota means ‘pigeon,’ and Aasan means ‘posture.’

It is a kneeling back and a bending aasan. It mainly gives strength to the back and leg muscles. Also strengthens the abdomen, ankle, and the throat muscles. You can say it is a full-body workout.

5. Downward facing dog pose

It is also known as Adho Mukha Svanasana.

It teaches to balance the body and helps to strengthen the leg, stomach, and arm muscles. The body weight is on both the hands and legs. It helps to build stamina. It is one of the most popular yoga poses practiced across the world.
